Please make sure the grounding point choosed is indeed grounded.
When there is only one grounding point
Step 1: Connect the grounding product to the grounding point.
(We use the grounding port of the outlet as an example here.)
Step 2: Turn on the tester. Switch to VOLT and set it to AC mode.
Step 3: Test the body voltage before using the grounding product.
Use the grounded grounding product as the grounding point.
One hand hold the black probe and contact the pointed end to the grounding product. (Please make sure your skin is not touching the metal part of the probe.)
The other hand hold the red probe right on the pointed end. (The metal part)
Now we got the data of body voltage before we use the grounding product.
Note: In general, the number will fall between 4~20, but the real situation might be effected by the environment. (Electricity product around, personal body status, material of clothes, temperature....)
Step 4: Test the body voltage after using the grounding product.
Hold the black probe in the same position
The other hand touch the product while holding the pointed end of the red probe.
Now we got the data of the body voltage after grounded.
As you can see, the number dropped a lot that means the product is working effectively.
Note: In general, the body voltage after grounded will fall below 0.1 and the number closer to zero the better; however, the real situation might be effected by the environment. (Electricity product, personal body status, material of clothes, temperature....)
When you have more than one grounding point to utilize.
Step 1: Connect the grounding product to one grounding point and connect the black probe to another grounding point.
(We use the splitter as the example here, you can also use other outlet or window frame as the second point as long as it's grounded.)
Step 2: Turn on the tester. Switch to VOLT and set it to AC mode.
Step 3: Test the body voltage before using the grounding product.
One hand hold the red probe right on the pointed end. (The metal part)
Now we got the data of body voltage before we use the grounding product.
Step 4: Test the body voltage after using the grounding product.
One hand hold the red probe right on the pointed end. (The metal part)
The other hand touch the grounding product.
Now we got the data of the body voltage after we are grounded.
